Kolbjorn Skattkaupandi Hrafnglermaðr (Jason Kingston) Kolbjorn is a Norseman who didn't think farming was much of a life's calling. As such, he looked to the honourable and socially acceptable alternative of going a-viking. He proved to have some small skill with blades, at least as much as he needed to stay alive. But more importantly, Kolbjorn seemed to have a talent at uncovering the most valuable treasure, or tax as his shipmates jokingly called it, during a foray. Because of this skill, his friends and captain dubbed him skattkaupandi, or tax collector. The raids went well and all grew rich, but like all good things, Kolbjorn's luck came to a crashing end. While returning to their homeland at the end of a raiding season, a terrible storm captured the raiding ship. The might of the storm was greater than that of even a dragon, and the ship was smashed to pieces. Kolbjorn awoke alone on the shore of a new land. Heading inland in search of people, Kolbjorn came across a tall warrior, who offered to share food and fire with Kolbjorn. While speaking with the man, Kol learned he was in a land named Ealdormere, in a barony called RamsHaven. The tall warrior was a knight of the realm, his name Edward the Red. Edward bade Kolbjorn to accompany him to the hall of his Baron and Baroness, Vali and Heithr, where Kolbjorn may have the opportunity to enter into service. During the trek, Edward and Kolbjorn became friends, and when Edward presented Kol to Their Excellencies RamsHaven, they gladly accepted his service. Kolbjorn was happy, for once he met Val and Heithr, he knew they were honourable and strong leaders. Kolbjorn was sent into battle many times by his gothi, always at the side of Syr Edward, and the bond there continued to grow. During a long summer war campaign, Edward asked Kolbjorn to become his second squire, which Kol accepted with great honour. While serving Vali and Heithr, Kolbjorn became a close friend and trusted advisor. Many times did Their Excellencies honour Kolbjorn with recognition of service, both marshal and not, as did the crown of Ealdormere. During this time, Kolbjorn had made many friends, some of whom were as close as family. As was a custom in Ealdormere, these close friends and Kolbjorn joined together in what was called a household, and they named it RavenGlass. Kolbjorn continued to serve Vali and Heithr, until the time came for them to move on, and a new Baron and Baroness took the seats of RamsHaven. While in service to the new Baron and Baroness, Kolbjorn was twice asked by the crown of Ealdormere to serve as the Kings personal guard, and for his service he was recognized. Having been in the Barony of RamsHaven for a long while, a third Baron and Baroness took to the seats of RamsHaven, Master Konrad and Dame Alyce. During a war campaign, Kolbjorn spent much time in the company of his new Baron, a Master of the Pelican. It was decided that Kolbjorn would make a good student, and as such, Master Konrad took Kolbjorn as his first student. Currently Kolbjorn travels around Ealdormere when he can, enjoying the company of friends and trying to help out when and where he can. Having been injured in battle, and later in an accident involving two carriages, it is not often that Kol takes up his shield and sword, as it causes pain to do so. But every day it gets better....
